Where are the downloaded files ?

GolfNut said on January 19th, 2008 at 7:34 am

Like Neutron, my computer doesn't ask where to save the files...it just saves them and I can't find them. Where should I look for them and what extension should I look for ?

thanks

try deleting the existing file from your pc then re-downloading automan!

AUTOMAN - I just re-download myself for the Navman no problem so there may have been a slight glitch at POI or posibly your saved file has been made read only, if so you need to remove the existing one before it will be overwriten, Hope this helps

automan. Can you give some examples of the files you are having problems with. That way someone else can try the same download and see if they duplicate the problem.File may have errors in them. What type of gps do you have?

I did that one charles45, see my post above, same file downloaded fine on my laptop

Maybe I am missing something I don't see the name of any file?

I browse over to comments and see some discussion on a file called Fixed Speed Camera UK .The first two lines have 0 for coordinates and not sure about coordinates for that area unless I check them but it looks like a lot missing the -(minus) in column a when downloaded to Garmin format. That may be the problem with automan downloading them.

automan what model gps do you have?I have a Garmin and downloaded the file in question. Is the download the problem or loading it on the gps?

automan said on August 19th, 2008 at 6:17 pm

the downloading is the problem Garmin Nuvi 660

charlesd45 said on August 19th, 2008 at 7:39 pm

Not sure why you would have a problem downloading from poifriend to your computer for the UK files.I don't see no writing on my end on download button.
