I have reported a problem with the Lewiston, NY location at least twice using Tools+Corrections and it is never changed. I change it myself when I download the POI file.

denisjolicoeur..it would be more helpful if you used the Tools + Corrections link on the locations that need adjusting and then use the Suggest a Change feature.

Unfortunately dozens of locations that I've seen in rural Manitoba & Saskatchewan are way off.. I tried emailing the company (from their website, as they link to this site) and I've had no response.

That's weird denis...I haven't had any issues with this group at all. Very accurate near me. Perhaps you could offer some suggestions to make the ones near you more accurate.

The GPS coordinates seem to be way off on a lot of locations. Some are only 500 meters off but I've noticed some that are as much as a mile or 2 away. Are there any plans on improving the precision of the file?

I am pretty sure that POIfriend has a download option for Blackberry. Not sure which models it covers, however, I would suggest clicking on Contact and then Inquiries and let them know your BB model and ask for the BB option.

The Tim's file downloaded perfectly to my Garmin. The one issue I have is that the symbol will only appear on my GPS when I am zoomed way in. I see the store before the POI image shows up on my screen. Do I have a setting wrong or is this normal?

As you are using a 276C marine unit, You are probably having problems because you can only enter 3,000 waypoints in the unit. Page 24 of the manual. The 276C marine unit is different from the NUVI series. I don't think POIFriend supports waypoints as used by your marine unit.

Sorry tsilliker, just noticed that you mentioned Garmin Direct. Garmin Direct is only good for poi groups of 50 pois or less as it loads (at least for the Nuvi) into the Favorites folder which holds a limited number of pois. I always use the regular Garmin download option from this site.

All the pois from this group and from all the other groups on this site load up just fine into my Nuvi. However, with the Garmin units (at least with the Nuvi) only the 50 closest to your current location will display on the unit. So if I am at Hwy 401 and Mississauga Rd the unit will display the closest 50 locations to that spot. Then as I travel the pois will change to show the 50 locations closest to my new location. Can't say if this applies to all of the Garmin units or even if this applies to other GPS models.

Garmin Direct works for loading POIs into the GPS, however, they all appear as blue flags. And only the POIs closest to my stated location load (up to 50). Not good if I want to load POIs from other areas. Why is it all the other GPX files on this site will load into Garmin's Trip and Waypoint manager, but this one file will not?

I think the GPX file on this site is more of a standard one. Garmin probably needs something customized for its own software.

Did you download to a directory or did you use Garmin Direct" I have a separate directory for my custom POI csv files and then I load them to my Garmin using POIloader.exe. [fre from Garmin]. It creates a separate GPX file in my Garmin and does not corrupt my "favorites". my 2¢.

tsilliker, I have a Garmin nuvi and this file and any of the others on this site load up just fine when I use POI Loader. Can't comment on Garmin Trip and Waypoint manager though.

Something seems to be wrong with the files I have downloaded for the Garmin. When I choose to download a Garmin File, it sends me the .csv file. This file is not recognized by my Garmin Trip and Waypoint manager software. The .gpx file is also reported as being not a valid format. I tried another poi file to compare. I downloaded a file of my bank locations in both Garmin (.csv) and GPSexchange (.gpx). The Garmin program didn't recognize this .csv file either. This might not be the best file to send to Garmin programs. The .gpx file of the bank locations loaded into Trip and Waypoint manager OK. This leads me to believe the .gpx file of the Timmies locations is somehow corrupt. I know it is recommended to use POIloaded from Garmin. However, it doesn't work with my 276c marine unit. I have confirmed this with Garmin Tech Support. They recommended I use the Trip and Waypoint manager software that came bundled with the GPS. Anyone comment on loading the .gpx files into Garmin Trip and Waypoint manager, or POI-loader for that matter. Thanks for any help.

parrothead, the best way to advise Tim's of a correction to a location is to click on "Show POIs", then go to the location that requires correction and when you have that location up, click on "Tools + Corrections", then click on "Suggest a change". Make the change suggestion and it will generate a message to whomever at Tim's looks after this group. They may not see the comments section as quickly as they will an email.
